The global Wellbeing and Fitness industry has shown a strong growth in recent years that is projected to continue.

This is primarily driven by an untapped share of the population that do not train nor exercise regularly along with an unhealthy nutrition intake, combined with an increased awareness of the physical and mental benefits, and health issues from a lack of, health, wellbeing and fitness care.
On a global basis, McKinsey & Co. estimates the global consumer wellness market at $1.8 trillion growing at ~5-10% annually.
82% of US, 73% of UK, and 87% of Chinese consumers consider wellness a top or important priority in their everyday lives.

 

As exhibit by Graph 1, this is especially true among Gen Z and millennial consumers.

 

The growth of the global Wellbeing and Fitness market is furthermore manifested by, among others, that the global health and fitness club market size, according to Fortune Business Insights, was valued at USD 112.17 billion in 2023 and is forecasted to grow to USD 202.78 billion by 2030, exhibiting a CAGR of 8.8% during the period.

 

On a European level, the fitness club members increased by 7.5% YoY 2022 to 2023, reaching 67.6 million European members. Total fitness practitioners in Europe – defined as those who practice at least once a week – increased from 54% in 2022 to 60% in 2023, and 61% in 2024.
